A Pandemic : Health crisis or Consequences?

Above poem is mine and it is one of the basic question of humanitarianism.

Who are we? What is the purpose of our existence?

We have been taught for so long, for more than a century that this very earth is for us. This birds, rivers, forests, natures etc. are for us and this belief led to massive industrial revolutions, scientific inventions, theories, and what not.

We tried everything to ease our lives, in fact humans are the only species on this planet that exploits its own home for its own standard of living.

Now the consequences followed. The bill comes due, always.

Right now we are in amidst of our own deeds. Floods, forest fires, earthquakes and now a pandemic.

Whatever we learned back in our past seems wrong or irrelevant now. Here is the truth.

Earth is not for us, neither the rivers and oceans or the forests. It's not that God wanted us to enjoy the aroma so he made flowers, or he didn't made rivers for us to get water. Rivers are flowing and we are getting water, they were flowing in ancient time, during Jurassic era and will continue to flow after our death also.

Not a single creature is born on this planet so that we can cook and eat them up. They were living their lives and we made a dish from them. We have been taught in school about dairy animals or milk giving animals but do they really offer us or we take their milk...LOL.
Not having meal is also a cruelty on ourselves, we have to do it but the problem is humans don't know when and where to stop. Food has become an identity for us. Being a foodie is a new cool thing now. Now here comes the problem, what was a necessity previously became a fashion and now it has become an identity. Food is not an identity, it’s a need. Need for this body, for this mind, and if it becomes an identity then the basic intention behind eating i.e. health is lost.

And exactly this is happening. People used to eat proper food for their well being ( known as Satvik diet ) but now Eating snakes, bats, chickens, wild animals etc. not only disturbed their own health but unleashed many diseases. Corona virus had a host (Bat) and it was locked in it, when we started killing bats, it leaked out and now we are locked. So need of an hour is to Stay home, have some fun with family, help those people who are in need and last but not least think and improve our habits and diets.

While staying in home read, sing, meditate, observe the healing nature, whatever crap human gave to this earth, she is removing it. Watch the clean sky, returned birds, empty streets...Our body and this planet both have simple rule " Garbage input results in garbage output ".

Social distancing is extremely needed now because the virus outside isn’t as smart as us if we go out whether by intent or fun or accident result will be the same. It does not sense your nature, religion, ideology or intent.

There’s a chant from a Santana scripture ( exact source is untraceable )

  सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः

सर्वे सन्तु निरामयाः
सर्वे भद्राणि पश्यन्तु
मा कश्चिद्दुःखभाग्भवेत्
 शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः

Translation:

May all sentient beings be at peace,
may no one suffer from illness,
May all see what is auspicious, may no one suffer.
Om peace, peace, peace.
