TEENAGE : AGE OF SIXTEEN
SWEET SIXTEEN
I remembered
The way you ask, the I reply,
That friendship belt in backseat of van
You offered me but you were shy
The way you predicted, What I’ll say,
And typed “hi” before my “hey”
multi relations we used to have,
And silly arguments but deep like cave
best friend, sista, hope and guide
Games we played, you ran I hide
And you, how can I forget?
Talked very less but meaningful
A wise monitor in class of fools
My screams in class and wonders you showed
Still makes no sense, no meaning that owned
Silly talks and chat we had
Secrets and stories that we said
When those bottles held above
Screaming “cheers” without wine
And those fights we had how?
Mystery of her address, and details you find
I remembered the way you hold
You talked very long and way you scold
The way we tickled each other in class
The way we laughed and the way we cried
The way we fought for french fries
I remembered the way you hit,
The way you hugged………

With one more “non grammatical” poem of mine and a list of my crazy things I did during my 16 is in this poem.A poem and a short story in itself ( for all most imp friends of my life)
“ SIXTEEN”
This blog
Hastiness for being the best, hastiness for finding the best and hastiness for living the rest ( and leaving the rest), age of entertainment, fashion, looks..... that’s what all is about. Lust, physical attraction, love all of the is totally accepted but with the permission of partner. Crushing the petals is never accepted in any of the culture. Like an underrated movie " Sixteen".
“ Sixteen” is something to be welcomed, to be celebrated, to be cheered. Apart from regrets and restrictions and skipping the never ending debate of “Teenager freedom” or “ What is wrong or right, or country’s mentality”.
This should be celebrated and in India we have such customs also ( remember movie Padman?) Once I had read an amazing Gujarati article of Jay Vasavada on this topic and there it was written that innocence is the most precious gift of God and to one need courage to lose this gift and enter in the world of teenage. Many Indian and other author had written book on this. Just friends by Sumrit Shahi, Revolution 2020 by Chetan Bhagat, recall few book like Pain Me Like I Am from Writers Corp, Blue Lipstick by John Grandits, Laughing Out Loud, I Fly by Juan Felipe Herrera and besides all these how could we forget Sylvia Path’s Daddy or an outstanding novel Diary Of A Young Girl by Anne Frank ( many of the C.B.S.E students’ favourite).
There are many stories in Indian mythology and in other culture too.
Few most popular are Dushyant and Shakuntala love, A tale of a King who fall in love with a girl named Shakuntala . Famous love stories like Heer-Ranjha, Salim- Anarkali, Sohni-Mahiwal, Romeo-Juliet, epic lovers Krishna-Radha and Krishna-Meera ( this is one of the purest form of love, 24 caret).
If someone ask me my age then I would like to say that I am only 16 with 3 years of exciting experience ( try it! call yourself 16 and add the remaining years as exciting experience).
