PARANORMAL : IN POPULAR CULTURES

PARANORMAL :  IN POPULAR CULTURES

Paranormal, Ghosts, Spirits……Cool down, I am not here to scare you nor I will say any movie or book review. This blog is something different. This is a journey through the haunted roads of different cultures leading to an unexpected destination that hold many secrets within.
So let’s start…….

Ghosts, snakes and cats are one of the most mysterious topics to be discussed. And out of all these ghosts are the most mysterious one ( all three of them are said to be related with each other different ways and cultures). From small party to big festivals ghosts are always discussed in Indian families. Many of you have experienced also and there are movies also on such haunting.
In movies based on real life haunting like Conjuring or Annabelle or Exorcist there is a curiosity and many facts clearly shown by James Wan. My favorite characters are Ed and Lorraine Warren. They are demonologists who solves cases of spirit or demonic possessions and keeps haunted things like Annabelle doll in their house. There is a special rooms for such things. Two sequels on this named Annabelle and Annabelle creation has been made and it got world wide attention. Festivals like Halloween are not at all strange in this social media century.

Conjuring, Conjuring 2, Annabelle, IT, Insidious, Lights out, Paranormal activities and in Bollywood also
Woh kaun thi?, Mahal, 1920, Phook and many more, even tv series like Fear Files etc. etc. etc………
Before going into deep in all these there is a short story for you…

“ The Stove”
Ghost hunting has been very much popular since a very long time and teenagers are also crazy regarding these adventures.
Once there was a circle of friends, Annie was the youngest, her cousin Lisa and their friends Jane, Bob,
And Chrissy all 5 of them went to Annie’s old house where her aunt and uncle were living. All were teenagers and close friends. Their friendship was popular in whole street of London. All were enthusiastic and sprouting blood in their veins that was only 21 years old. Annie suggested one night that let’s check whether ghosts are real or not? After a short quarrel all agreed. So now there was a time to setup all the stuffs. One steel plate was placed and on it a primus stove and then it was covered with another steel plate ( this arrangement is real and most common in Indian methods of ghost hunting ). 3 girls put their fingers on plate while other just sat behind and observed. Lisa asked staring at stove that is there anyone who wants to communicate? ( just like Ouija board in Conjuring movie ). she asked again and then suddenly after a long wait of 10-15 minutes lower plate started revolving on its own!! stove started shaking and then all were scared. Sprouting blood in all y
oung veins has become cold. Suddenly everything was stopped and fortunately nothing bad happened but after few days one monk visited there and this incident was narrated there by Jane. Monk told that there was a spirit there and it remain there for almost 5-6 days he also warned not to take such risks again ever. ( BASED ON TRUE EVENTS ).

This is only a drop from the wide ocean of haunted experiences. With changing culture methods of ghost hunting also changes. Nowadays tracking by using radioactive equipment is most common. There one fort in Rajasthan called Bhangarh where such haunting and ghost hunting often takes place by media or any other groups. Other popular methods are Bloody Mary or Ouija board and many other.

In other cases ghosts are became a thing of creativity or we can say exploring mysteries. Remember the recent movie IT, well jokers or clowns has been a comic character for kids and no one ever could imagine that such funny characters can also freeze our blood( just like Annabelle, a joker toy or a crooked man ). In fact there one awesome message in that movie that “IT will kill you only if you will fear from it”. same thing has been written in holy scriptures of Hinduism like Gita or in Holy Bible also. One more message is that clown cannot kill any of the kid when all were together. United we stand, divided we fall. Demons are everywhere, in us, in toys and even in Nuns ( Valak of Conjuring) and they cannot be finished completely all we can do is to stay away from them by the grace of God.
Similarly in movie Lights Out, Diana exists only on darkness. It an allegory where Diana ( the witch) is one type of destruction and darkness it seeks is ignorance ( or Adharma), witch burns in front of light which means that where there is truth ( spiritualism) nothing bad happens.
No doubt movies like Conjuring is very much scary but in the end they gives a wonderful message. In climax demons are always defeated by power of God. Exorcism or any other practice but where there is God there is no demons. Recall ending of Bollywood 1920. Where the hero chants Hanuman Chalisa in ears of demon ( similar to exorcism in series Fear Files). Shraddh of Bhootnath and Ed and Lorraine Warren also seek help of God to fight with demon. This is what all great epics and scripture of all religions whether it is Ramayana and Mahabharata or Qurran, Bible or any other holy book the core is always same. Like water is same everywhere just the difference is rivers starts from various places but finally they meet in ocean only.

That’ all for today, Enjoy the blog and movies and May God be with you……….
