FRIENDSHIP: CRAZINESS ALONG WITH CARE
FRIENDSHIP
YOU STILL OWE ME
My beloved,
Clouds of time have turned,
Beautiful moment into past
Though more love we earned
Though our life was too fast.
But you still owe me.
I pray our friendship live along,
And makes me more strong
And you still owe me.
We are songs of different tunes
But still together like sand dunes
Your smiles, your tears,
Your mails, your fears,
Late night calls and fruit beers
All that bullies and useless fights,
We’ve been through all those sights,
But still our friendship is at heights
There is a distance of a sea,
But you still owe me
You still owe me………
- Sarang Joshi
Well! It is a sort of rhyme written by me. On Friendship. A word that makes you smile, the moment you read it. A Bollywood fan would surely recite songs like “yeh dosti hum nahi todenge”, “tere jaisa yaar kahan”, or any English song like” you and me got a whole lot of history”,
Many movies, songs and poems are written on this topic. And it’s worth writing o it. One of the beautiful relation on earth and most loved topic for directors, poets, writers, bloggers etc. So, I thought that there’s nothing wrong in writing on this. There are awesome creations like F.R.I.E.N.D.S, a series after which all friends want to live likethem, many of you have even planned so. And even in Godfather movie of Francis Ford Coppola there is one famous dialogue “ A friend should always underestimate your virtues and an enemy overestimates your faults.” A full proof, totally practical dialogue. One more quote is “ Friendship is everything, Friendship is more than talent. It is more than the government. It is almost equal of family.” This is given by Mario Puzo ( actor playing Don Vito in The Godfather). And a fabulous movies called FAST AND FURIOUS, who can forget the friendship of Vin and Paul in that sequels? And my most most most favourite SHERLOCK HOLMES and JOHN WATSON…..In the world of music also there are success stories of friemds working together like ONE DIRECTION, CHAINSMOKERS, and in India during 20th century there were many music directors named together like SACHIN-JIGAR,
And most importantly, how can we forget Bollywood? movies like Sholay, Yeh jawani hai deewani, Zindagi na milegi dobaara, 3 Idiots, Rang de basanti and many many more. In case of literature, it has many poems on friendship. The first word that came to your mind when you read literature is Shakespeare, he’s also written a sonnet 104 on it.
Many other like “A Time to Talk by Robert Frost”, “A Friend by Gillian Jones”, etc.
In our mother tongue, Gujarati there one poet Amrutlal Laljee Bhatt and many more gems like him has wrote poems and quotes on friendship.
There are many definitions also given but according to me “ Friendship is a type of greed of humans in which all wants a shoulder to cry, and a hand to hold”. And it’s the only greed that never harms.
It either loves you and lifts you up or gives you an experience that finally helps you only.
Friendship is the only relation that one can choose by himself/ herself. No other relation is chosen by us after birth.
Friends can do anything. They can achieve the toughest goal together or can survive the toughest moment together, They can create songs like few Music bands or they can fight for their nation’s freedom like Shaheed Bhagat singh and his friends. People like Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark cards, he originated the idea of friendship day during 1930.
If you make true friends then you can’t believe how creatively it works. Friends help to find solution of any matters in our life, and sometimes even to find ourselves in the crowd of this world……..
Now a story or incident of my life…………
As I am an extrovert I love making friends, less through social media more through direct meetings but I love to talk to new people, it’s my passion. But sometimes I’ve to face problems also. Talking too much sometimes leads to wrong people.
Few years ago I was on a holiday with my family. We had gone to many places of north India. During this trip a beautiful incident happened to me.
We were at Bikaner, a beautiful city in Rajasthan. All were almost exhausted after visiting a fort and we had a time to sit and take rest there. There I saw a foreign tourist taking photographs, he eventually smiled at me and I smile too. Then I guess he wanted to talk to me and fortunately I initiated. After few moments we were friends, he was a tourist from France and came here to see the forts and palaces of India. We talked about climates, politics, lifestyle, music, history and what not……
After about 3-4 minutes there was an awesome scene. Me and my friend (that I made there only) were talking to a French tourist named Michel and his girlfriend we together formed a small circle of friends. That was one of the most memorable incident of my life.
This is how beautiful friendship is. But friendship is something to live within. To accept it, to enjoy it till the last breath. And the problem arises when we starts to become judge of our friend circle. In teenage or above but if we start judging our friend by what he wears, how he talks and his interests the situation transforms from friendship into formality. Guys, Friendship and Love is very pure and innocent feeling. It is the same when a 5-6 years old boy feels when he gets a melted chocolate, though it is melted he takes and licks it with a big smile. No doubt we have to correct our partner if he/she is going wrong anywhere but there is a far more difference between correcting and taunting.
Friendship has no rules, no boundaries, you can make anyone your friend. A boy, a man, a girl, a woman, any old person, or even animals also. It includes your interpersonal and extra personal communication to make feel anyone special in your life. To make them friend and to just say that “ Hey, no matter what happens I’ll always be there with you”, to talk a random walk with them on the path of life, to hold his hand, to laugh loudly with him without any reason.
Make friends, as many as you can. They are the real treasure. But the MOST MOST MOST MOST IMPORTANT THING IS ACCEPT THEM THE WAY THEY ARE. Help them, ask them for help but never depend on them. Remember that they are also humans, they can’t fulfil your every expectation.
Accept their likes, dislikes, interests, passions. Any awkward moment with your friend will always be a precious memory for you.Learn to appreciate their wills, their awkwardness. And Learn to embrace the beauty of randomness. As it is said in Holstee Manifesto “ We are united in our differences”.
LIVE LIFE, LOVE LIFE, MAKES FRIENDS MORE AND MORE…..
This is what I want to share. Making friend is a good thing but too many friends can even reveal your personal life. As mentioned above there is a poem by Robert Frost.
A TIME TO TALK
When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don’t stand still and a look around
On all the hills I haven’t hoed,
And shout from where I am, ‘What is it?’
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.
- Robert Frost
