Peer Pressure: Influence of others | Problems faced by teens | Gregariousboy.blogspot.com
Heyyy guys, my name is Sarang Joshi and if you are thinking for my intro. Then read below
I am a teenager, a loquacious boy, as my blog name is GREGARIOUS BOY.
As every teenagers are, always ready to express themselves, to impress others. Before thinking much, just take a look on my topic."Oh come on it'll be fun. This is the common phrase we often say or heard it.
But I am going to express this phrase in a particular situation. When your bestie or roommate or friend tells you during a party. You can now easily guess that our topic is PEER PRESSURE. Yes a pressure that is not measured in pascals. We all have passed through this situation, if not keep calm you'll soon experience this.
I'm not here to bore you by giving lecture on what you should do and what you should not, I'll just tell you a short story. A story of a boy, new boy in a strange city.
There was a boy called Sebastian, not long ago. He recently passed his high school and after a long vacation he went for further studies, as all do away from home.
He was a dancer, a superb dancer. His mind is continuously thinking of music, dance, tunes etc.
In a city where millions of people "survive". He was a nostalgic in this strange city. He did the same thing which you and me will do if you'll be at his place. Took admission in college, made new friends and entered in his routine life.
Time is changing continuously, one day, two days, three days, one week. And then he met a boy, they conversed more, and more ,and more. Soon they became friends. Best friends. After few days his friend fell in love, they both started meeting and hanging out in gardens and all. This boy, our dancer was alone so he too joins them sometimes.
Again time passed, few weeks later, Boy was not alone, he had made a friend circle. They study together, hangout late and cheered also.
Days passes as sand through a hole, once when all were sitting together, a friend asked him "Seb, why are you still single? you need to enjoy now just go on" and he went on.
What will you do if you don't have a car, and your friend does? Can you buy a car as instant as a packet of chips? I am sure, your answer is we'll wait, till we make some money.
But Sebastian didn't. He fell in love to a girl he didn't even know. Committed to someone without even knowing her full name. After some days, he started smoking, drinking, and wasting his time which was a kind of hangout in his opinion. Every time He was told, "Oh come on Seb", "You can't I bet", "Just do it", "It's very easy", " it'll be fun", "just try it once"............................
Now guys, just compare two Sebastian from the above story. The one who love to dance, the one who came to city as a stranger, to hunt his dreams, and the other one???
He came there, simply settled and survived as all others did.
There is no end of this story. Anyone can be Sebastian, whether he/she is new in the city or not.
Teenagers have a tendency to copy what others like, not what they like.
See this picture, this represents the second Sebastian.

| THIS WHAT HAPPENS IF U DO WHAT OTHERS LIKE |
The pressure he was experiencing, that was nothing but peer pressure,
Let's take this thing some what optimistically. Imagine what if Sebastian had made friends with same hobbies like music and dancing? or friends who force them, give pressure on them by saying " Seb, remember you are not here to waste your time" instead of just saying "let's do it, it'll be fun"???
I have too passed from this type of peer pressures, not once but many times and I'll thank The Almighty for alerting me every time.
All I want to convey from this story that take such peer pressures positively. Do what you love, do what you dreamed of.
So guys thank you so much for having patience and reading this story. I'll be back soon with more interesting stuffs. Till
then enjoy and observe this last picture. And at last but not at least YOUR LIFE IS YOUR CHOICE, ONLY YOURS.
